Ordinary Membership Guidelines
Application
(i) The name and particulars of a candidate for Ordinary Membership shall be submitted to the Manager in the Club's official Application Form, duly signed by the candidate, his Proposer and Seconder.
(ii) Save in special circumstances, the General Committee shall not consider a candidate's application for membership unless both the Proposer and Seconder:
- (a) have been members of the Club for more than two (2) years;
- (b) are members in benefit and are eligible to vote at the Annual General Meetings;
- (c) have not been suspended by the Club for whatsoever reason in the preceding twelve (12) calendar months; and
- (d) have not nominated more than three (3) candidates in a calendar year.
(iii) The Proposer and Seconder shall be personally acquainted with the candidate and shall guarantee the candidate's eligibility and good standing.
(iv)Upon receipt of the Application Form, the Club shall display the name and particulars of the candidate on the Club's Notice Board for at least fourteen (14) days to allow Members of the Club to raise any objection thereto before the General Committee consider the candidate's application at its next meeting.
Entrance Fee & Monthly Subscription
Entrance Fee
1) ORDINARY MEMBERSHIP
RM1500 + 8% SST
2) LADY MEMBER / GOVERNMENT SERVANT
RM750 + 8% SST
(v)The entrance fee for Ordinary Membership shall be RM1,500.00 (Ringgit Malaysia: One Thousand and Five Hundred Only) excluding statutory tax. The entrance fee for ladies and government servant is RM750.00 (Ringgit Malaysia: Seven Hundred and Fifty Only) excluding statutory tax.
(vi)The sum of RM150.00 (Ringgit Malaysia: One Hundred and Fifty Only) [excluding statutory tax] being three (3) months monthly subscription shall be payable in advance upon application for Ordinary Membership.
(vii)The whole entrance fee shall be paid upon application, as may be prescribed by the General Committee from time to time, subject to the prior approval of the Members at a General Meeting of the Club.
(viii)The entrance fee shall be refunded to unsuccessful candidates and newly-joined members who cease to be a member prior to the confirmation of his membership, for any reason whatsoever.
(ix)The entrance fee shall not be refunded to a confirmed Member on his ceasing to be a Member for any reason whatsoever including a Member who may subsequently acquire the status of Honorary Membership under Rule 5(a).
(x) The subscription payable by all Ordinary Members shall be RM50.00 (Ringgit Malaysia: Fifty Only) per month (excluding statutory tax) and shall be due on the first day of the month. The same shall apply for Lady Members and Sports Members.
Monthly Subscription
RM50 + 8% SST
Refundable Deposit - RM500
Candidates shall pay a refundable deposit of RM500.00 (Ringgit Malaysia: Five Hundred Only) which sum shall not be considered as an advance payment for amenities at any time during the membership.
If for any reason whatsoever an Ordinary Member shall cease to be a member of the Club, he shall be entitled to a refund in full or such part thereof.
The said deposit or any part thereof may, at the absolute discretion of the General Committee, be utilized to settle any outstanding account of such Member who has ceased to be an Ordinary Member.
Advance Sum Payable - RM1,000
An advance sum of RM1,000.00 (Ringgit Malaysia: One Thousand Only) as security for the accounts or bills which will be incurred, shall be payable upon application of the Ordinary and Lady membership.
Procedure for Admission
The procedure for admission of a member shall be as follows:
- (a) a candidate shall be subject to an interview by three (3) panel members of a Selection Committee which members shall be appointed by the President.
- (b) upon completion of the interview, the Selection Committee shall submit the interview report to the General Committee for its approval.
- (c) the General Committee, after having given due consideration to the interview report from the Selection Committee shall deliberate and give its decision. The final decision shall be based on a vote of majority by a show of hands or by secret ballot.
- (d) if at least five (5) members of the General Committee have voted in favour, the candidate shall be elected.
- (e) When a candidate has been duly accepted, the Manager shall notify him in writing and furnish him with a copy of the Rules, Regulations, and Bye-Laws, of which every member shall be considered to be fully cognizant, as well as of any subsequent additions and alterations thereto. If the candidate's application for membership is rejected, the Manager shall notify him to that effect and shall not assign the reason for such rejection.
At any time before the approval of a candidate's membership by the General Committee, the candidate's application may be withdrawn:
- (a) by the candidate himself; or
- (b) by the proposer or seconder; or
- (c) by the General Committee.
Probationary Period
A newly-joined member shall undergo a probationary period of not less than twelve (12) months, during which a temporary membership card shall be issued to him upon his admission until such time his membership is confirmed.
He shall be entitled to all the privileges of the Club but shall have no voting rights at the General Meetings or voice in the affairs or Management of the Club.
He shall pay a fee equivalent to the normal monthly subscription as well as such other fees that would be applicable to him if he was a confirmed member.
He shall not have any disciplinary problem or improper conduct during the probationary period.
Confirmation of Membership
Subject to the approval of the General Committee, such member upon completion of his probationary period shall be confirmed as an Ordinary Member. Upon confirmation, he shall be issued with a new membership card. The probationary period may be extended by the General Committee without assigning any reasons whatsoever.
At the discretion of the General Committee, a member who has completed the 12-month probationary period may not be confirmed and/or may have his membership revoked:
- (a) if he fails to settle his dues as laid down in Rule 12(a) and 12(b); or
- (b) if he has improper conduct during the probationary period; or
- (c) if he is found to have breached any of the provisions of the Club's Rules, Regulations and Bye-Laws.
